Lake Powell 2019
Turquoise Bay at Padre Bay
Lake Elevation 3621
Well another year in the books at Lake Powell. A great thanks to Laketime once again for helping us with some mechanical issues with our personal boats and trucks.
This years theme was glow in the dark. Our crew for 2019 from left to right
Brian, Sara, RJ, Brandon, Dylan, Jeff, Katelyn, Brent, Stephanie, Brad, Natalie, Chris

Finally hiked Ice Cream Canyon. That was tough in the heat, but what a view!! We also had a party one night were we were famous duos. Steph and I were the "couple" from risky business.
My 3 year old F150 had engine problems from Cajon Pass all the way to Page, AZ. Dropped the truck off at Page Ford and they fixed it while we were on the lake. It was a faulty Coil.
Laketime fixed my boat trailer boards for me while we were on the lake. My boat is now 11 years old and the trailer is having some issues as is the boat. Laketime did a great job replacing my boards. Trying to make my boat last another 3 years if possible.
I also got a flat on my boat trailer when we picked up my boat, Got a nail in it some were in Page. Got it fixed on the launch ramp. Yikes!
Then my boat trailer fender weld, which has been an issue for years, multiple fixes, fell off yet again. Laketime fixed it in their yard and did a fantastic job. That fender will no longer give us any issues!!
Chris unfortunately hit a whale on the first day and destroyed his prop and shaft. Had to tow his boat back early the next day. So much for wake surfing on this trip.
But we still had a great time. And a great site this year. We were in Padre Bay with a great cliff to the west. Had well needed shade at 3:00pm every day. If the weather is going to be over 100 degrees I'd suggest finding a spot facing a large cliff to your west. The afternoon shade really was great!
One night we heard a distressed lady calling for the NPS around 8:30pm. Her husband and two others left around 7:30pm for Wahweap and had not returned. She was frantic on channel 16. I moved her to channel 12 and asked if they had cell phone reception. They did not. We did so she gave me their numbers and I called and texted all three. Finally heard back from them about 15 minutes later. I radioed the lady and advised her that they were ok. Received a nice text back the next day from the husband thanking us for helping her find her loved ones.
Please do not drive on the lake at night!!! We did once last year on our way up to DR. We departed around 7:45pm from Wahweap and made it to Rock Creek before darkness hit. We made it into DR but I will never drive on the lake at night again.
