Our First RV TripSo with all the turmoil going on in the world Steph and I decided to rent a 25' RV this year. We traveled all over the Rockies with our two new dogs, Sierra and Beretta. From Utah, Wyoming, Montana and Idaho and back in 8 days. We had a blast!
From RV Campgrounds, RV Parks to Boon Docking.Well we completed our first ever RV trip. Yes we've done a lot of Houseboating trips at Powell over the years. This year we thought we would try a RV as well. Gotta say Steph and I loved boon docking the best. RV Campgrounds were OK. But most RV Parks are a bit to close for our type of vacation needs!
Our dogs did great! Boon Docking was definitely the best. But just like houseboating, you have to find the best spots! One night we booked a stay at the Beaver Mountain Ski area near Bear Lake Idaho. Thought it was going to be gorgeous. Well it was gorgeous, but the parking spots were on asphalt, were hot, and way to close to our neighbors. So we stayed there for about 5 minutes. Drove off to a boon docking location only 5 minutes away and had a great night! All and all we had a great time! Think we will try a trailer next year. Driving a huge RV all around busy small mountain towns is not the most fun. Would rather drop off the trailer and drive around in our truck. Note to self! Stay away from Yellowstone during the busy months! |
