For the family trip we stayed in Padre Canyon this year and had a blast. A little more crowded than other canyons further up lake but with Castle Rock Cut closed we decided to come in a little closer. Had a blast and PERFECT weather this year. Not one storm to worry about and had the perfect parking spot for our ski boat.
This year we hiked to the back of Face Canyon and it was beautiful. Next year we are looking at going to West Canyon.
Till Next year!

On our 1st trip we went earlier in the year once again with customers and vendors and stayed in Kane Wash. Took this pic early morning, one of my favorite.
On this trip we had some hellacious storms and some of the hottest days ever spent on the lake. One day when some crew members had to leave early we had storms almost all day. When a break in the storms came I had two knowledgeable crew members take two other crew members home on our ski boat while I stayed with the houseboat. Thank God I did! About a half an hour after they left all hell broke out and I had both engines running trying to keep us anchored. Maydays were being hailed all over the lower lake. The ski boat returned about 3 hours later and it lost the bimini top due to a sudden gust of wind.
Those monsoon storms can be crazy! Anchor your house boat in a wind protected cove if you can. And dig those anchors in deep! The storms will pass and you will be fine!
