Brent Sr, Stephanie, Brent Jr, Brian, Brandon, Brad, Bill and Tona Fisk and their two children Brady and Lauren, along with Jenn, Dylan and Erin.
Well yet another year spent at Powell. We had a great time on our newly purchased time share "The Purple Moon" from Laketime.
The boats at Laketime have everything you need! 600 gallons of fuel 200 for engines, 200 for generator and 200 for toys. You can switch the gas around from one tank to the other too. It also has a very large freezer on the front deck. Great to store all your frozen foods or keep your ice nice and cold for the igloos later in the week.

The Purple Moon at Laketime
Upon arrival from S. Ca we arrived at Lake Time around 8:00pm and found our boat the Purple Moon in their yard. It was all lit up and cleaned to a spit shine, hell they even had soft music playing on our XM radio. The crew at Lake Time made our boat look like a room at the Ritz! The rooms were all very clean and smelled great! And the bathrooms were cleaner than
ours at home! The boat was so clean we almost didn't want to step on the carpeting. The greatest thing of all is that our cars were parked right next to the boat so all we had to do was throw all our goodies up on the deck from the cars parked below. We finished unpacking in about 1/2 hour. It was fantastic!! No more dragging all your luggage and groceries down the mile long ramp at Wahweap rentals.
That first night we stayed aboard the Purple Moon in the yard at Laketime. It was actually quite nice and saved us from spending money on a hotel room. They allow the owners to spend the night before their trip on the boat as long as we follow simple rules, no loud parties, no drugs and lights out by 10:00pm. No worries! It saved us 2 hotel rooms and we had our boat all packed and ready to go in no time.

Saturday
The largest big screen in the world!
The next morning we were awakened at 5:30am to the starting of a diesel engine which was towing the boat next to us down to the lake. Ours was next for we had scheduled with Laketime to move us at 6:00am. At almost exactly 6:00am they were ready for us to be moved. Our family hopped on the courtesy shuttle and off we went. In about 15 minutes we were motoring down the lake and it wasn't even 6:30am! Fantastic!!
Our first night we tried to get a nice cove in Wetherhill but it wasn't quite right, so I took the ski boat up to the end of Rock Creek and found a fantastic spot on the left side. There was even a better spot on the right side but was taken by a very clever person who had tiki torches all around the island as to say, this is our island and please stand clear. He definitely had the spot! But ours was quite nice as well. Good wind protection, clear water, and great anchoring potential.
We fished a bit that day but did not catch a thing, but we sure had a great time tubing, wakeboarding, and water skiing.

Sunday
Bradleys little fish
Early in the morning we got up to do some of that fantastic fishing that I told our friend the Fisk's all about. But upon arriving at our good spot last year, the mouth of Rock Creek and the Main channel, we fished for about an hour and didn't catch a thing. We tried different areas 100 yards here and 100 yards there but nothing. What gives?
Bradley finally caught a small striper off the main channel. Just large enough to keep! After a very dismal fishing expedition we were off to funnier and better things.

Two tubes are better then one!
Here are some of the crew having a blast on the two tubes. The Purple Moon is in the background. It was truly a great spot at Rock Creek!
That night some neighbors across the bay were lighting off some fantastic fireworks, yeah I know they are against the law at Powell. But boy were they great. The fireworks were exploding right next to the red rock, it made for quite the show.

Monday
Once again we tried the fishing thing and once again we got nada! The only eventful thing that happened was when a boat came near us then quit its engines about 100 yards away. We all wondered what they were doing. Then they started their engines once again and low and behold it was the NPS. They actually were very nice and shared a few words before asking us for our
licenses. Whew and we almost left them at the houseboat!
We even tried some shore fishing the night before and only caught one large mouth bass, once again by Bradley, my youngest.
And the rest of the day we just messed around

Tuesday
where else can you go on vacation and have your children actually enjoy the sunset?
Tried to fish again but NADA!
Boy what a storm!!! It came in around 4:00pm and was coming from everywhere. The wind was somewhat bad but the lightning and thunder made
us all hide in the houseboat.
I forgot to add this tidbit in the original post. During the storm Stephanie realized we never went and got more ice from Dangling Rope. So while I was busy hammering in the poles, tightening the ropes, and running the engines against the wind. She goes and fills up all the empty Gatorade bottles with "lake" water and puts them in the freezer to use them as frozen bottles of
"ice" in the ice chest during the night and early next day to keep our other drinks cold. OK, great idea except she informed everyone on the boat about her fantastic idea except for me. So during my hectic time running around the boat making sure we were secure I get thirsty, I see the Gatorade bottles in the freezer and in my hurry I open one, down the water, "hmm that didn't taste to
good" and off I go. It was about 3 hours later that she informs me of her brilliant idea. I quickly turn pale, start to sweat and go and hunt down the remnants of the Gatorade bottle I drank. Sure enough when I find it next to the captains chair I see sand at the bottom of it. Yikes!!!!! I layed in bed that night waiting for the unspeakable to happen and low and behold it never did! Go figure, Powell is drinkable, but I would not recommend it!!! :)
Does anybody know what happens if you get hit by lightning when you are in a fairly large houseboat? We were wondering just how safe we were.

Wednesday
Our view of Rock Creek from Purple Moon
Gave up on fishing! We headed up lake in our ski boat up to Cathedral in the Desert, Oak Bay, and Rainbow Bridge. Oak bay had quite a few nice beaches that were open but we didn't want to waste that much gas so we decided to stay at Rock Creek. We then headed down to Warm Creek bay for the last 2 days.
Thursday
Brian, Erin and Brad at Warm Creek
We have never stayed at Warm Creek Bay before. The views were not as scenic as Rock Creek or other areas up lake, but boy was the water perfect for water skiing and wake boarding. It was glass almost all day long!!
Friday
Boy that went quick!!! We had to return our houseboat by 9:30am and once again Laketime was just perfect. We radioed in ahead of time and they were at the ramp waiting for us upon our arrival. We went and picked up a capt and he motored us right up on the semi trailer. Perfect.
Once again the unloading was extremely easy for we parked our cars right next to the boat and were unloaded in about 1/2 hour.
Was that really a week? Boy that really went quick this time. The Purple Moon really pulled through as did Laketime and the Crew. We had great meals planned for every day and the wind was only bad for about 2 hours on 2 days. Not a bad trip all and all!
